The Only Industrial 5-Axis Machining System Made to Fit Through Your Door

DATRON C5 – Simultaneous 5-axis System to Produce Highly Complex Geometries

Machining complicated micro parts in a small workspace or laboratory is challenging. It often requires a large-scale machine that can’t be installed in a small area unless you invest in serious renovations, which sometimes costs more than the machine itself. The smaller, tabletop 5-axis systems are easy to place, but they typically don’t have the rigidity or accuracy needed to produce high-quality, precision parts. You could resort to outsourcing the work to machine shops, but that potentially exposes your intellectual property and you lose control over many aspects of the project. The DATRON C5 is the answer.

What If You Could Machine High-Quality, 5-Axis Micro-Parts In-House?

The DATRON C5 is the only 5-axis industrial CNC system that fits into about the same footprint as an office copier, so you can machine precision micro parts, in a wide range of materials, in-house. Without rebuilding your workspace. The C5 has a solid cast steel frame and features a 22-fold automatic tool changer, an integrated tool-length sensor, and a Heidenhain linear measuring system in all axes. Low energy consumption reduces operating costs, so you avoid the expense, hassle, and uncertainty that comes with outsourcing.

DATRON cuts your machining time down

Before DATRON, we were outsourcing our CNC work. One part cost us $8.00 and the vendor made 10 pieces per hour. Then, I saw DATRON at a trade show demonstrating how their technology can cut your machining time down. Man did it ever! Our DATRON makes 60 parts per hour.

Watch the DATRON C5 in Action

The DATRON C5 is a powerful small-footprint CNC milling solution that was specifically designed for the 5-axis machining of small parts. Powerful servo and torque motors ensure high dynamics and speed.

  • 1.8 kW 48,000 rpm spindle in action.
  • 5-axis simultaneous machining of micro parts.
  • High capacity carousel with 22 HSK-E 25 tools holders.

Clean and Quiet With Linear Position Measuring System

The DATRON C5 with an integrated automatic feeder is ideal for 5-axis milling in unattended, low-manpower production. It allows an optimized material flow for workpieces with a footprint of less than 2 m². The automation cell is swivel-type and offers a mixed feed with up to 56 workpiece places, making it a great choice for tool and mold making. The C5 is perfectly suited for steel, alloy steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics, zircon, and CoCr composites.

  • Linear Scales – For accuracies reported by DATRON customers in the range of 4 – 5 microns. HSK-25 E tool holders with <3 micron runout.
  • Clean Milling – Produce showroom quality parts that can be used right away. The minimum-quantity lubricant system keeps your parts cool then evaporates to leave them burr and residue free.
  • Integrated Zero-point Clamping System – For ± 0.5 µm repeatability (optional).
