Polished Single Flute End Mill

For applications in plastics or acrylic requiring superior edge finishes, these highly polished tools are ideal. The extremely sharp edge allows for near optical-clarity in clear plastics. These tools are recommended for finishing operations only – roughing in plastic or metal cutting will reduce the overall tool life and cut quality.

Our single flute tools are ideal for machining non-ferrous materials, often at significantly faster rates compared to conventional multi-flute tools. The unique single cutting edge design creates more space for chip evacuation, allowing for faster feed rates and higher chip loads. These long-life, micro-grain carbide tools are available in various cutting diameters and lengths, shank diameters, and geometries for specialty applications.

The number of cutting flutes in the tool determine how much material can be removed per rotation. For high speed, bulk material removal, single and double flute are recommended. Higher flutes will produce finer finishes, but may require a lower RPM than single flute mills.

L2 is the length of the usable cutting edge of the tool. This is only the flutes. Also known as flute length. This determines the amount (depth) of material that can be removed per pass.
