Steel Machining – Double Flute End Mill
For machining in harder metals such as steel, the x.ceed coated end mill offers longer life and resists against abrasion. The tool is balanced with a shorter cut length, offering more stability and strength that is ideal for machining in steel. Note these tools are specifically designed for hard metals, so it is not as affective in softer alloys and plastics.
Our double flute tools are ideal for machining when surface finishes are important. They are typically used for finishing pockets and making lighter cuts. Also, they can be used in applications with tiny diameters because the double flute is stronger compared to a single fluted tool. These long-life, micro-grain carbide tools are available in various cutting diameters and lengths, shank diameters, and geometries for specialty applications.
DATRON’s unique CNC cutting tools are made with a proprietary process:
- We use high quality micro-grain carbide to provide superior tool life and long-term savings
- A multi-stage grinding process delivers extra sharp, polished edges for burr-free machining, reducing or eliminating the need to hand-finish parts
- Patented tool geometries that decrease cycle times, improve finishes and boost productivity
