DATRON is looking for a self-motivated, team-oriented and hands-on technician to service and support German-engineered CNC vertical machining center customers across North America. The applicant will be required to troubleshoot and diagnose over the telephone, mechanical and software related issues. They will also be required to travel to a customer’s site location, when required. The position will consist approximately of 50% travel time across North America and the other 50% in our office located in Milford, NH. Additionally, the position will be required to do in-field preventative maintenance, testing machine components in inventory and document cases in the company data base. This is a full-time hourly position, with medical, dental and 401k benefits.
It is critical the applicant has a good fundamental knowledge and experience of mechanical and electrical repair. Basic skills such as working with a multi-meter, reading electrical schematics, working around board level electronics and mounting, adjusting and calibrating mechanical components are critical. Good fundamental PC skills including running and installing software programs and trouble-shooting operating system issues are important. Backgrounds or experience in mechanical or electric engineering, electronic assembly or machine building are ideal. The applicant must have good communication skills, a minimum of a high school diploma and possess a valid driver’s license. DATRON is willing to train applicants lacking machine tool experience.
